I recently put together 40 factory presets for GForce Halogen FM, a new softsynth designed to make FM synthesis more accessible and fun to use.
Halogen takes a different approach to FM, focusing on intuitive controls and generative sound design rather than technical complexity. It’s built around the Spark engine, which instantly creates new patches at the press of a button, with simple macro controls for shaping timbre, envelopes, modulation, and effects.
My presets explore a range of tones, from clean and percussive to evolving and textured, designed to show off Halogen’s playful, hands-on approach to FM synthesis. Halogen FM is available now from the GForce website.
