Meridian is a collection of 80 modern presets for TAL U-NO-LX, designed to push the synth’s classic sound into more contemporary territory. Although TAL U-NO-LX is based on the Roland Juno, a staple of 80s synth music, giving the Juno sound a more cutting-edge character. The unison mode added in version 4.6.0 makes it possible to create wide, layered patches that go far beyond the original Juno’s capabilities.
All presets were freshly created to make full use of TAL U-NO-LX’s unison, delay and reverb effects to create wide, atmospheric sounds. The pack includes a range of arps, basses, keys, leads, and pads with a focused modern edge. When putting these presets together, I referenced artists such as Com Truise, Tycho, Rival Consoles, FKA Twigs, and Actress for inspiration.
Meridian is for musicians looking to get modern sounds out of TAL U-NO-LX while keeping the musicality and mix-ready character that makes the Juno so beloved.
All synth sounds created entirely with Meridian presets with no additional effects.
The playthrough video below showcases 20 Meridian presets in TAL U-NO-LX. All sounds come directly from the synth, with no external processing. All delay and reverb you hear are from TAL U-NO-LX’s built-in effects.
