This pack contains both of my Daft Punk Homework remakes featured in my 20th anniversary Daft Punk’s Homework Synth Sounds article: Da Funk and Around the World.
I started these remakes at the same time as the four remakes I put together for my Discovery article. I tried using a variety of soft synths at first, but after finding Daft Punk’s gear list, which consisted mostly of vintage Roland synths, I decided to rework most of the patches to use TAL U-NO-LX for everything except the iconic TB-303 sequence in Da Funk.
I used some of the original samples that Daft Punk used in the original recordings, including the Dance Stab in Da Funk, the two drum breaks in Da Funk, and what I believe is the original kick in Around the World. I used the bx_greenscream plugin (from Plugin Alliance) for the lead in Da Funk to add guitar pedal-style distortion. If you don’t have the plugin, all tracks are frozen so you can still open the project.
