Kaytranada Remake Projects

This pack features all three Kaytranada remakes that I’ve released to date, spread between my Kayatranada 99.9% Synth Sounds article and my How Kaytranada Produced Glowed Up article. The remakes featured are of the following songs:

  • Glowed Up
  • Together
  • Vivid Dreams

Glowed Up was a fun remake to put together, with transcribing the 808 bassline and drum grooves being the biggest challenges. Discovering the split stereo chord trick was very interesting, and using Ableton’s Utility effect to isolate the left and right channels made this much easier. The 90s-flavoured Vivid Dreams and the funky Together are both a great showcase of Kaytranada’s funky, groove-orientated style, with off-the-grid programming and dark, distorted basslines.

These are intricate Projects with lots of attention to detail; most the MIDI clips feature off-grid notes and chords to match the groove of the original Kaytranada songs. There are lots of effects to match Kaytranada’s production, with plenty of stereo widening, modulation FX and distortion.
