This pack contains the Ableton Live Project for my full remake of Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross’ In Motion, which is originally from their soundtrack to the 2010 film The Social Network.
This is one of the most detailed remakes I‘ve put together, with some of the challenges being the chunky, layered bass sound, the intricate sequences and the wild SID arpeggios. The second sequence doesn’t loop so I had to transcribe it bar-by-bar. The SID arpeggios have at least seven different tracks layered on top of each other, which was very challenging to transcribe.
There are a lot of different sounds in this remake and it has a high track count. It’s a very clean, dry mix that also showcases Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross’ masterful use of arrangement; despite the high amount of sounds, it never feels cluttered.
I used GForce Oddity 2 for the bass and arps tracks as the Oddity plugin was used in the original song for the bass pluck. There are five electric guitar audio tracks including dry eBow tracks direct into the audio interface and guitars recorded through distortion.
