Famous Synth Presets
Some of the highlights of the Legends pack are the faithful recreations of famous synth presets used by Prince and Michael Jackson which I haven’t included in any previous preset packs. All of the sounds in this pack have been made by directly referencing the original tracks and recreating the presets to the same high standard of my Synth Sounds series of articles.
In addition to recreating the iconic synth patches, all of the presets in Legends utilize the onboard effects of Arturia OP-Xa to incorporate elements of the original production effects into the presets. This approach results in sounds that are more faithful to the original recordings that the presets are based on, as production effects were often use to shape the sound. In general these sounds have a less heavy use of effects and modulation than modern synth presets such as those featured in my other Arturia OP-Xa V pack, Obelisk.
Legends provides a detailed and authentic collection of famous synth presets, capturing the essence of the 80s. It’s an essential toolkit for producers and musicians aiming to blend classic sounds with contemporary music styles, honouring the past while forging new sonic pathways.

Below is a more in-depth playthrough of some of the individual presets from the Legends pack in Arturia Analog Lab V. No external effects or processing have been added, the sounds are straight from Analog Lab V.
Requirements
To use the Legends presets, you must have either Arturia OP-Xa V or Arturia Analog Lab. Analog Lab is available in a free version called Analog Lab Play, which is compatible with these presets.
The OP-Xa V bank requires version 1.1.1 or higher. The Analog Lab bank requires version version 5.0.1 or higher. Both banks feature identical presets.
