Description
This pack contains the Ableton Live Project for my full remake of Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears. This is an updated version that features the new Arturia Prophet-5 V plugin.
There is a lot of layering in this project. Arturia DX7 V is used throughout, almost always with two sounds layered together. All the DX7 sounds are factory presets, just like in the original song, with chorus added to some tracks for widening and an 80s sound.
I recorded a lot of guitars for this project, including clean rhythm parts and distorted solos. Most of the processing is done with Ableton’s EQ, Chorus, and Compressor. I also used Arturia Chorus DIMENSION-D for 80s chorus widening and Arturia Dist OPAMP-21 for light distortion on one track.
All the drum tracks are MIDI, using drum machine samples with minimal processing. All the reverb is done via one instance of Valhalla Vintage Verb on a send-return track.
